First Step For A Better Vocab

In this Post we will learn how to increase our vocab, how to remember words, when and how to use them.

First and the most important point to remember is that the easiest way to learn the word is to use them in your daily life. A word is basically formed by adding prefix or suffix to a root word.

WHAT IS A ROOT WORD ?

A root word is that which describes the meaning of a word and do not change with the change of prefix or suffix like in dermatolgy, we are having root words i.e derm- which means skin and -ology means study. So as I told we can form as many words with the help of a single root word. Similarly oology is study of eggs , and in misogyne it is made of 2 root words i.e miso- which means to hate and gyne which means woman the word means hate woman and the person who hates women is known as misogynist.

So we have learned about the root words. Now its time to learn about "HOW TO REMEMBER THE WORDS"

REMEMBER THE WORDS:

The best way of remembering a word is to use it in your daily life and various other methods of remembering a word is mnemonic i.e remember the word in a way as you like. example dilettante which means inexperienced you can learn this word in this way
"THE PERSON WHO TIES A TENT DELLA IS DILETTANTE AND SUCH PERSON IS INEXPERIENCED".

By remembering the context in which word is used. Like I remember the word 'RESPITE' with the help of NEWS HEADLINE that is "RAIN BRINGS RESPITE TO THE FARMERS".In this sentence Respite means relief.

So In this way you can learn many words.VOCAB SESSION 1
