South Indian Bank PO & Clerk Recruitment 2017

South Indian bank has released the recruitment notification to recruit Probationary Officers & Clerk. There are total 537 vacancies out of which 201 are for PO & 336 are for Clerk. Online examination for Probationary Officers and Probationary Clerks will be conducted on different dates therefore you can apply for both the post but you must fulfill the eligibility criteria as mentioned in the recruitment notification. For the post of Clerk vacancies vary according to the regions as shown below:
  • Kerala → 210
  • Tamil Nadu → 70
  • Delhi NCR → 30
  • Karnataka → 26

#3. Eligibility Criteria of South Indian Bank Recruitment 2017

A. Age Limit (As on 31.12.2016)

Probationary Officers → For the post of PO you must not be more than 25 years.
Minimum Age Limit: born on or before 31.12.1996
Maximum Age Limit: born on or after 01.01.1992
Probationary Clerk  → For the post of Clerk you must not be more than 26 years.
Minimum Age Limit: born on or before 31.12.1996.
Maximum Age Limit: born on or after 01.01.1991

B. Relaxations in Upper Age Limit

Probationary Officers
  • For SC/ST candidates → 5 years.
  • For Candidates experience as Clerk/Officer in Scheduled Commercial Banks (Public Sector/Private Sector) → 3 years.
Probationary Clerk
For SC/ST candidates → 5 years

C. Educational Qualifications (as on 31.12.2016)

Minimum education qualification for both PO & Clerk is :
X/ SSLC → 60% marks & above.
XII/ HSC → 60% marks & above.
Graduation → Graduate from a recognized university under 10+2+3/4 regular course with minimum 60% marks & above.

#4. Selection Procedure & Exam Pattern

The selection process of South Indian Bank Recruitment will consists of :
Probationary Officers → Online Test + Group Discussion + Personal InterviewProbationary Clerk → Online Test + Personal Interview

#6. Career Prospects and Salary

The Pay Scale of both the post is mentioned below. In addition to the pay scale you will be given DA, HRA &
other allowances as per the rules of the Bank from time to time depending upon the place of posting.
Probationary Officers: Pay Scale of Rs. 23700– 980/7 – 30560- 1145/2 – 32850- 1310/7 – 42020.
Probationary Clerk: Pay Scale of Rs. 11765 – 655/3 – 13730 – 815/3 – 16175 – 980/4 – 20095 – 1145/7 
– 28110 – 2120/1 – 30230 – 1310/1 – 31540.

#7. Probation Period

Confirmation of the job will be based on the satisfactory performance during the probation period.
Probationary Officers: 2 years
Probationary Clerk: 6 months

#8. Application Fee

Probationary Officers:
  • SC/ST Category → Rs. 150/-
  • General Category → Rs. 700/-
Probationary Clerk:
  • SC/ST Category → Rs. 150/-
  • General Category → Rs. 600/-
